Defense
The most important responsibility of the federal government is to ensure the safety and security of all Americans. To do that, we must provide our military with the resources they need to defend our values at home and abroad. Prior to coming to Congress, I served in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps and deployed to Iraq, where I prosecuted terrorists in Iraqi Court. I know firsthand the importance of taking the fight to ISIS, al-Qaeda, and other terrorist organizations and investing in our military to maintain our competitive edge against nations who wish to do us harm.
